At personal and professional crossroads Brookins and Symons Productions partners, Evelyn and Carl, were introduced by mutual friends in July of 2004. That September they formed a company which led to their creating, producing, publishing and marketing Lullaby for a Child – a poem by Doris Peel.

Evelyn has always treasured the poem’s comforting spiritual message. She sang it at bedtime to her three children and later to her grandchildren. She has long believed the poem had wider appeal. Carl soundly agreed.

The results of their collaboration, a first foray into publishing for children, have been deeply satisfying. Lullaby has begun to reach and bless a wider audience. It is receiving large critical acclaim. In 2007 The Just For Mom Foundation awarded Lullaby its Mom’s Choice Gold Medal for illustrations that are imaginative and colorful with eye-catching details that support and enhance the book’s message.
